Here is a look at what is new in Gravity Forms v1.5:

Multi-Page Forms

One of the most widely requested features is finally here, multi-page form capabilities. Using the new Page Break field you now have the ability split longer forms into multiple pages or steps. We have also integrated a visual paging status bar that can be used to show a progress bar or the steps involved in completing the form.

Pricing Fields

Pricing Fields allow you to create quotes and order forms. It features integrated pricing calculations and is compatible with the Gravity Forms PayPal Add-On. Pricing Fields consist of a Product Field, Option Field, Quantity Field, Shipping Field, Donation Field and Total Field. They allow you to easily turn your form into an order form and collect payments when combined with the PayPal Add-On.

Textarea Character Counter

Easily limit the number of characters entered into a textarea and include a visual character counter that lets them know how many characters are allowed and how many characters have been entered.

CSS Ready Classes

Easily create multi-column layouts using built in CSS classes. These keywords are custom CSS classes you add to the CSS Class Name option under the Advanced tab for each field. Using our pre-defined CSS class names you can easily create 2 or 3 column forms, display radio button and checkbox options in 2, 3 or 4 columns as well as turn a Section Break into a scrolling text field. Get complete details on the available Ready Classes here.

Default Notification

Gravity Forms will now automatically setup an Admin Notification that uses the WordPress Admin email as the Send To and includes all submitted form fields when a new form is created.

Post Field Enhancements

We have enhanced the content template capabilities of the Post Fields and extended them to the Post Custom Field. Now you can use the content template capabilities on the Post Title, Post Body and Post Custom Fields in the form builder. The Post Category field has been enhanced to allow for an initial placeholder value (ex. "Please Select a Category") and now supports Admin Only visibility to allow you to set a default category using the Post Category field.

Fixes and Enhancements

  • Removed most font-family declarations & some '!important' declarations from front end CSS (forms.css)
  • Cleaned up/reformatted most of the CSS for better readability
  • Implemented a few admin page UI improvements
  • Added hooks to allow custom confirmation messages (to support the payment add-ons)
  • Fixed issue on address and name label hooks not passing form id parameter
  • Added support for payment add-ons information to entry detail screen
  • Cleaned up some Notices that were displayed when running on debug mode
  • Added ability to hardcode the reCAPTCHA keys so that they get automatically set during activation (for multi-site installs)

This is almost exactly what I am looking for. I would buy this product today if it could also:

    1. Have the thank-you page on the same page as the multi-form. In other words, they click next, next, next-- until they get a Thank You message, but they never leave the form page.
(or, they do leave the form page upon final submit, but we pass the values to the "thank you" page) because...

    2. I would like my thank you page to say, "Thank you FIRST_NAME! We will be contacting you regarding your CUSTOMER_INTEREST within the next 24 hours." In other words, hard-coded text fields with shortcode variables worked in.

    3. I need to upload my own "continue" and "submit" buttons.

Can the software do this, but I just can't figure it out? The second Gravity forms can do the above 3 things, not only will I buy it, but I will be an affiliate as well.

Gravity Forms does all of the above.

      1) when embedding a form on a page or post turn on the AJAX option.
      2) The confirmation text supports the use of form field value variables and provides a drop down for selecting and inserting them into the confirmation message.
      3) The continue and submit buttons are customizable and can be text or images. To edit the primary submit button you edit the form settings. To edit next/previous buttons for multiple-page forms you edit the page break fields.

We need authorize.net integration with the added ability to use the authorize.net subscription feature!!! When is this coming?

    Hi Carl,

Is there a way I can get emailed automatically when new stable releases are available? Sorry if I'm missing something obvious...

    Cheers,

    divydovy

  5. @divydovy

The best way to keep up is just to subscribe to this RSS Feed. Carl posts every time a new release is available.

  6. divydovy says:

OK thanks Kevin. Might be worth considering either using Feedburner for handling RSS, or some other notification system too - I'd easily miss an RSS post on this. Feedburner lets you (when it's working properly) subscribe for email alerts.

Anyway, great job guys, sure you have more than enough to do without my helpful suggestions 😉

  7. Already using feedburner. You can sign up for email notifications too if that's more convenient for you.

Thanks Kevin. I assumed you weren't b/c it didn't give me the FB interface at http://www.gravityhelp.com/feed/. Anyway, awesome work - you guys rock.

Have tried this out in a production environment and the feedback from the administrators has been incredible - they are absolutely delighted. A huge step forward. Keep up the great work!

  10. whitcombej says:

It occurred to me yesterday that an online forum where we can all contribute our forms and discuss features would be terrific - is this on the table?

  11. Suzanne says:

Kevin - Any word on when custom post types will be supported?

    Hey guys,

Great job on the new release candidate. I actually purchased gravity forms two days ago, I was really interested in the plugin's form building capabilities and I was really disappointment when I realized that the forms did not have any character limit functions to the textarea fields. That was a really bummer for me as I feel this function is very essential. I have spent countless hours the past 48hrs trying to find add-ons to fix this problem of character limits on my gravity form text fields and I have had no luck. I just came across this page and I am glad to know that this functionality has been added to the new release. I am ecstatic. Now, any idea when this update will be made available for automatic update so I can make the upgrade? Thanks a bunch guys!

The Multi-Page Forms will be ideal. I will be using it as an online questionnaire

    Excellent work guys!
